In modern-day Tokyo, Kagome Higurashi lives on the grounds of her family's Shinto shrine with her mother, grandfather, and younger brother. On her fifteenth birthday, while searching for her cat, Kagome is dragged into the enshrined Bone Eater's Well (骨喰いの井戸, Honekui no Ido) by a centipede demon that emerges from it. But rather than hit the bottom, Kagome finds herself in another universe which is parallel to her universe - but in the past, during Japan's Sengoku period. The demon was originally difty years prior by Kikyo, a warrior priestess who was the previous keeper of the Shefeated fikon Jewel (四魂の玉, Shikon no Tama, lit. 'The Jewel of Four Souls'), a powerfully magical artifact created from the sacrifice of the priestess Midoriko, which grants its holder any wish their heart desires. Kagome is revealed to be the reincarnation of the now-dead Kikyo.

Cardcaptor Sakura (TV Series 1998–2000) cast and crew credits, including actors, actresses, directors, writers and more. All this talk about NIS America's upcoming release of Cardcaptor Sakura and it's inclusion of the Animax dub has made me wonder: How does everyone in this forum feel about the Nelvana's Cardcaptors dub? I know alot of people tend to spit venom when you mention it, but I find a lot of that.
[post:228#2094] Qorx Reviews: 0 Posts: 3 | I know that Animax aired it..... but Im just wondering.....Did Animax or any other company release an uUnedited/u English dub of CCS in Dvd yet?If not, then when will it be released? Thanks in advance. ^^ |
[post:228#2095] AstroNerdBoy Reviews: 417 Posts: 384 | I never knew there was ever an unedited English dub of CCS as I thought the only official version could be the one put out for Cardcaptors. But as I investigate, that was only done for the Asian-Pacific area. Unless something has happened, Nelvana still holds the license to Cardcaptor Sakura in the R1 region. I know that Geneon's sub-license has expired and it may be that Nelvana's license has expired. As such, unless a company, like FUNimation, comes in and license-rescues it to give it a new dub (and considering how their plans to redub Slayers got flushed down the toilet due to their being unable to obtain all the materials needed to do a redub, it may not be that easy to get it dubbed for R1 into English), we'll never see an unedited English dub. |
[post:228#2097] Qorx Reviews: 0 Posts: 3 | I dunno if this works in this world, but could the CCS that was done in the Asian-Pacific area send a large load of Dvds to the U.S so we can buy it?... Dunno if this can be done sooo... mehh~ ^ ^ |
[post:228#2098] Jan-Chan Reviews: 599 Posts: 593 | I purchased (some 2 years ago) a boxed set of R1-licensed sub-titled episodes from the RIGHTSTUF. While it was expensive (about $65 for each of the sets), it was far less expensive than the dubbed version. I checked the RIGHTSTUF and they do not appear to be selling it anymore (discontinued?). The only other option might be to check EBAY and see it anyone is selling it used (but be warry of un-authorised copies - the quality can be really bad!) . I did find the original items listing at the rightstuf - but, it does not really say anything. http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/379uF=nZWhWaLWxtt-/browse/item/67032/4/0/0 |

[post:228#2100] Jan-Chan Reviews: 599 Posts: 593 | Without saying too much about having to resort to borrowing someone's VHS tapes (Do you still have a working tape-player? When was the last time you used it?), there are places to go to find off-beat anime torrents. There is always that Scandinavian p_i_r_a_t_e_b_a_y place that one can check (but you might have to read between the Swedish to find what you are looking for.) There is also I_s_o_h_u_n_t which will probably help you find what ever you are interested in. But then I am assuming that Oorx already knows all about bit-torrents.... |

[post:228#2107] Forbin Reviews: 478 Posts: 532 | 2 Notablly good English Dubs are Full Metal Panic and Gunslinger Girls. And Onsakamaru in Ninja Nonsense ENG is better than the JP one. |
[post:228#2120] Qorx Reviews: 0 Posts: 3 | Here are some reasons why i hate subs alot more than dubs:..........1) Sometimes they talk to dam fast with large amount of text, and i have to pause the vid in order to read it.... D:2) Constantly reading down at the subs and then look up at the animation so frequently makes me dam dizzy...and makes me loose focus of the story..... T.T :X Dubbing eases the constant pain for my eyes!!! ~_> ^ ^ |
